Save the date! On Friday 14 January 2022 Johan Veenstra, software test engineer at NS and Flock.'s software engineer Vincent de Bruijn will be sharing their experience with selecting the right testing tool at NS International. "As Protractor became end-of-life, we at NS International began searching for a new Web(driver) tool to build our tests on. In order to avoid being overly dependent on any specific solution we tried Test Cafe, Cypress, Webdriver IO, Playwright... whatever we would choose we knew we did not want our tests to be tightly coupled with any specific tool. In this presentation we will show you how we achieved this goal. We will go through the selection process and explain how we arrived at the solution which worked the best. Afterwards, there'll be time for a round of questions – and free beers, if the regulations allow it."
"It’s developers’ (mis)understanding that’s released in production, not the experts’ knowledge" ~ Alberto Brandolini. Save the date! 3 Dec 2021 at 16.00. It's impossible not to have software architecture. Therefore you’d better make sure it's an effective one! Domain Driven Design, or DDD for short, is a toolbox which can help you design and implement your domain. It offers tools which can help you with all aspects of software design, from creating a shared view of reality between all stakeholders in a software project to technical design patterns. In this meetup Niels Simonides, a software engineer at Flock., will guide you through the different concepts of DDD. You'll learn why it's important to create a thoughtful software design and how DDD can help you with this. Practical matters: You're welcome to join online or in person (Jansdam 2c, Utrecht) if the government measures allow it - just drop us a line (firstname.lastname@example.org) to make sure.
As many companies are looking to achieve greater visibility into their financial exposure, ING undertook the construction of a state-of-the-art supplier risk assessment platform. Combining the powers of news analytics with a sleek and user-friendly design, the new platform is likely to outpace similar solutions available on the market.
We have many books in our living room but “Proper spoon usage for babies and toddlers. A practical approach” isn’t one of them. My son Fedde (aged 9 months) is getting better and better at it nonetheless. At first he only watched, then he tried it for himself, failing spectacularly but never giving up. He tried again and again and nowadays I’m proud to say there’s considerably more food ending up in his mouth than on the table or the floor. He achieved all that without any theoretical basis. I tend to agree with my son here: practice is a great approach to learn new skills, whether you’re a baby or a software engineer.
